COOLHUNTING. CÁCERES, CALM & HIP

Cáceres is a UNESCO World Heritage site in Western Spain, halfway between Madrid and Lisbon, surrounded by cork forests, olive groves and vineyards. Tired of Tuscany? Come to Spain's Gastronomic Capital for 2015 and find the coolest places around, from Michelin-starred restaurants and enogastronomic experiences, to contemporary art centers, shops  and art galleries.

Since prehistoric times a considerable number of cultures gathered here: Vettones, Romans, Almohades or Jewish. During the 14thc to 16thc the walled ensemble was ruled by noble rival factions who built fortress-houses, granite masonry palaces and more than 30 towers that bear testimony to the power struggles and were partially torn down by the Catholic Kings.

If you are looking for a place to relax, slightly off the trail, here you will find an appealing mixture of antiques, trendy shops and old reasonable tascas lined up in steep cobbled streets offering a wide range of things to see and do. Calm and hip. Don’t miss it.
